A Wellness Fair aimed at seniors
provided an opportunity recently for elder residents to meet with representatives
from Cayhealth and learn about personalized care.
The Department of Children and
Family Services held the annual wellness fair at the Seafarer’s Association
Building on 20 October.
Children and Family Services
Director Deanna Look-Loy commented on the initiative: “This year Cayhealth is
involved, and the undertaking in this respect is a pilot project that explores
the options for personal care. We are starting with those who are a part of the
Social Services programme, but we are hoping to extend the benefits of
personalized care to the entire community.”
Other speakers addressed such
issues as the importance of having a will and land transfers. Among the
speakers were Deputy Director of the Lands and Survey Department Ann Kirchman,
and Cayman National Bank President Ormond Williams.
Entertainment, singing and other
activities were enjoyed by the seniors, in addition to prize giveaways, which
were donated by the private sector.
“I am well pleased with the turnout
this year, and the support has been encouraging. It is a pleasure to see that
the function was so well attended,” said Mrs. Look-Loy.
