The retrial of Cassandra Bodden for importation of firearms began Monday, after a jury earlier this year was unable to reach a verdict.
Bodden pleaded not guilty to importing firearms described as .40 calibre Smith and Wesson, a 9mm Ruger, .45 calibre Glock model 21 and a 9mm Arcus between 23 and 27 April, 2008.
Bodden has also entered a not guilty plea with regard to allegedly importing 50 rounds of Winchester .38 special, 25 rounds of Remmington Golden Sabre .45 and 347 rounds of Luger 9mm.
Crown Prosecutor Tricia Hutchinson is acting on behalf of the Crown in the matter, while Bodden is represented by Attorney Benjamin Tonner. The trial is being presided over by Justice Charles Quin and is expected to last several days.
