Ignition wins bid for document job

IT service provider Ignition has
been awarded a contract to digitise and index more than 1 million documents for
the Lands and Survey Department after a public
outsourcing bid.

The project, expected to be
completed within eight months, includes the processing of documents in various
sizes from letterhead up to full-scale technical drawings. Once digitised and
indexed, the documents will be uploaded to the government’s Oracle-based
enterprise content management system for secure authorised accessibility.

The recruitment of additional
employees was an important part of the planning process, Ignition said in a
statement, and the firm has enlisted an all-Caymanian team to execute the
extensive project.

“We are pleased not only to have
won this contract, but also that it provides us the opportunity to build our
ever-expanding team of professionals,” Graham Pearson, CEO of Ignition,
commented. “This project has brought the hiring of an additional six employees,
which we have been able to do looking no further than our local Caymanian
talent. In addition to providing employment opportunities, this contract
further enables Ignition to train these employees, introducing them to the
ever-expanding business of document management.”

Ignition has extensive experience
in records management having completed major projects both locally, in Bermuda
and in their other international locations, the firm said.

records management and archiving.

The firm offers these services
Caribbean wide through a network of authorised partners in addition to its
offices in Bermuda, Atlanta, Halifax and Grand Cayman.
