Cruise ships go back to St Kitts

The cruise lines that pulled out of St Kitts have said that they will return following security tweaks by the island.

In early November, 16 passengers on a shore excursion were robbed by armed thieves who made off with an unspecified amount of loot. The passengers, from the Celebrity Mercury, were unharmed. Following the attack, both Princess and Carnival Cruises withdrew the destination from their itineraries.

Arrests made

In the days immediately following the theft, five people were arrested, security and police numbers were increased and cruise bosses were content that the incident had been dealt with.

Carnival Victory will therefore call at St Kitts on Friday, 26 November; Grand Princess and Emerald Princess will return on Wednesday, 1 December.
