The sinking of Cayman’s new dive
attraction and artificial reef has been rescheduled due to adverse weather
conditions.
Project leader Nancy Easterbrook
explained that there is gale-force weather in the Carolinas, an area which
forms part of the ex-USS Kittiwake’s journey to the Cayman Islands.
“It’s causing the tow to be delayed
by a couple of days but the project is still a go and we are working to get the
Kittiwake here as soon as possible. We’re looking at pushing it back by four
days or so and are talking about the new dates.”
Tracking the project
We will be updating this website
with the latest information as and when we get it so please check www.compasscayman.com through next
week to chart the progress of the Kittiwake.
Currently the Kittiwake is back in the water, bridled
up and ready to get under tow.
