Kobe Bryant may be overshadowed by
LeBron James of the Miami Heat in the headlines but he’s still a fan favourite.
The Los Angeles Lakers star is the
top vote-getter for the upcoming All-Star game. Along with Kevin Durant of the
Oklahoma City Thunder, Bryant tops the Western Conference in votes while Dwight
Howard of the Orlando Magic leads the Eastern Conference after the second returns
of 2011 NBA All-Star Balloting. Interestingly LeBron ranks in the top three in
voting for the East.
Bryant, The Finals MVP last season,
is the overall leader with 1,153,694 votes. Bryant, a five-time NBA champion,
is a three-time All-Star MVP and garnered the honours since 2002.
The 2011 NBA All-Star Game will
reach fans in more than 200 countries and territories in more than 40
languages. it is being played this year in Kobe’s home stadium, the STAPLES
Center in Los Angeles, on Sunday, 20 February 2011.
