Holiday stock up
nets $10,000 prize

A trip to Big Daddy’s liquor store at the Airport Centre last month resulted in one customer getting a surprising windfall.

Retail manager of Big Daddy’s, Damien Dilbert presented customer Gina Conolly with a cheque for $10,000 after her name was drawn from thousands of entries for the prize.

“I just went in to stock up for the holidays,” said Ms Conolly. With some urging from Aida Jones, team leader at the Big Daddy’s store, Ms Conolly decided to spend a bit more than she had originally planned so she could be entered into the draw.

For every $100 spent at any of the liquor stores, customers got one entry.

The first Ms Conolly heard of her good fortune was a call from the hosts of Z99 Breakfast Buzz on Friday and she admitted to them that she had forgotten what the prize was.

Mr. Dilbert said this was the first time the liquor stores had held the competition, adding, “We’re very happy with how the promotion went.”

Asked how she would spend her winnings, Ms Conolly replied: “Wisely”.
