The sporting world’s attention will focus on the London Olympic Games for 18 days in July and August next year.
This worldwide celebration of athleticism, combined with the excitement of the host city, promises to be memorable for all who are fortunate to attend. The Cayman Islands Olympic Fundraising Committee is now gearing up for a busy year of fundraising to assist the athletes in their preparation for the Games.
With only 18 months to go until the opening ceremony in London, Steve McFadin, of Transocean, the world’s largest offshore drilling contractor, has chosen to kick start the Committee’s 2011 Fund Raising Campaign, by presenting the Committee with a cheque for CI$2,500. Betty Baraud, Chairperson of the Committee, is extremely grateful for the generous contribution provided by Transocean Inc. and is pleased that Transocean Inc. has committed its support.
McFadin said: “Transocean Inc. demonstrates its commitment to corporate responsibility through a wide range of projects and I know how critical corporate support is to the CIO Fund Raising Committee at this time and would encourage the corporate community to pledge their support to the CIO Fund Raising Committee, so as to make the Games possible for our athletes.”
