Dalglish needs luck

Liverpool hope that bringing back Kenny Dalglish will change their fortunes. It’s alarming to see such a huge club lurching from one crisis to another and Dalglish must have a quick calming effect at Anfield. His next test is on Sunday in a Merseyside derby against arch rivals Everton who are no pushovers. Luck plays a part in every success and Dalglish could do with some right now. At least they’re at home and with Steven Gerrard leading the charge, the Red Army can start calming frayed nerves.

Manchester United go to Spurs on Sunday in what could be the most entertaining match of the weekend. Dimitar Berbatov has hit 14 Premiership goals yet not been in full flow. This could be his chance to stand out with the incentive of playing his old club.

Chelsea’s fragile state will be tested again at home to Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City expect three points from visitors Wolves and Arsenal hope to nail Avram Grant’s exit with a win at West Ham. The North-East derby between Sunderland and Newcastle looks an intriguing one. Andy Carroll has been a revelation for the Magpies, scoring 11 and breaking into the England side and this is a perfect stage to reinforce his ambitions.
