Usain Bolt is pleased that West Ham won the vote to host the Olympic Stadium and has stressed the importance of keeping the running track within the venue.
Bolt, who is a three-time World and Olympic gold medallist and the fastest man on the planet, backed the east London club to keep the legacy of the Olympics alive.
Tottenham shocked many in the athletics world when they announced plans to demolish the $700m arena if they won the bid. But Bolt is adamant the Olympic Park Legacy Company has a duty to keep the track inside the stadium once the Games are finished.
He said: “London needs to keep the track in the Olympic Stadium after 2012. It would be good to run there after. I say keep the track.”
Meanwhile, Bob Marley’s daughter Cedella has been commissioned by Puma to design the clothes that Jamaican athletes will wear at the London Olympics which means Bolt will sort of being wearing Marley’s clothes.
Cedella said: “We both break records. Marleys. Bolt. Legendary.”
