The Pete Ribbins Memorial Swim Meet sponsored by Consolidated Water is running from Wednesday until Saturday.
The Stingray Swim Club is delighted to welcome back as a sponsor CWC, a company with a long tradition of supporting swimming in the Cayman Islands, and to honour a man who was a great friend of the club and sport in Cayman.
This is a fully officiated four day meet and will be the last chance for some to make qualifying times for the CARIFTA Games in Barbados over Easter.
This year, the Stingray Swim Club has renamed the meet in memory of Pete Ribbins who sadly died recently after a long illness and who, as well as being a formidable athlete, was president of the Cayman Water Company when they started their long relationship with the club. The deadline for entries is 5pm on Tuesday 1 March.
The cost is $2 per event with a meet fee of $10 for non-members, $5 for members submitting paper entries and for the first time it is free to members who use the on-line sign-up.
Any entry after that, either for a swimmer or for an event, will attract a $10 administration fee. Full payment must accompany paper entries or they will be considered as late entries and will attract the $10 administration fee.
