Sagicor Life of Grand Cayman Ltd hosted a Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event to launch a critical illness plan called Ultra Lifeline, which provides up to $500,000 in coverage for 21 conditions.
President and CEO of Sagicor Life of the Cayman Islands, Mike Fraser, said, “A comprehensive critical illness plan is even more valuable today, as our population is living longer and the incidence of certain critical illnesses is on the rise. The ability to provide for those emergencies that require extensive and expensive medical care is really a great security blanket, not just for those affected, but also for family members and other dependants.
“This is life insurance for life. Gone are the days when you had to die to collect or ‘win’,” joked the president.
Dr. Clarence Charles, gastroenterologist and internist, spoke about the conditions, and commended the company for expanding the number of critical conditions covered from nine to 21.
Sagicor’s Ultra Life Plan is an equity-linked insurance plan available to anyone from age 20 to age 60.
“We are happy to bring this product to the market and are encouraged by the feedback received so far,” said Branch Manager Norman Wilson, who thanked the Chamber for giving Sagicor the opportunity to be a part of the Business After Hours series.
