Members of the public can get their blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels checked for free at the annual Heart Health Fair this weekend.
The event will run from 8am to 2pm at the Arts and Recreation Centre in Camana Bay on Saturday, 5 March.
Students from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine will be carrying out blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol screening for adults and children, as well as Body Mass Index checks.
Those who want to participate in the screenings are advised not to eat for 10 hours prior to attending the fair.
There will be several exhibitors at the ARC hall, including the Cayman Islands Blood Bank, which is encouraging people to donate blood and register to become blood donors. Everyone who registers to give blood will receive a plant from Vigoro Nursery.
To keep the kids occupied while parents explore stalls and exhibits and meet doctors and specialists at the fair, there will be a children’s corner.
This is the fourth time Cayman Heart Fund has organised the health fair, which is held in conjunction with St. Matthew’s University and Rotary Sunrise.
