Higgs & Johnson staff have raised funds and donated books to Maple House as part of the firm’s effort to support youngsters in the community.
Heather Halsey, Cayman office manager at Higgs & Johnson, came up with the idea, noticing that youths need a little extra encouragement and support.
Veronica Fierro, a marine consultant at the firm, assisted, and the collection was launched at Christmas, with funds donated by staff in the following months.
Maple House Manager Joy White and her staff were on hand to receive the donation from Higgs & Johnson Partner Gina Berry.
Mrs. White said the vast assortment of books would greatly enhance the mini-library at Maple House and that the residents especially look forward to daily interactive reading sessions with staff.
