For the second year, the Estella Scott-Roberts Foundation is recognising April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month by organising a silent walk.
The SAAM campaign aligns with the theme of the Foundation’s 2010/11 public awareness campaign: Silence hurts. If you see something, say something.
On 16 April at 10am the Steps to End Silence Walk is being held to raise awareness about sexual assault and child sexual abuse. By walking in silence for the entire event, participants are reminded of how silence hurts everyone when people fail to speak out.
The walk, which starts and ends at Camana Bay, is free. The Foundation will also have free giveaways for participants and will be selling T-shirts for the Silence Hurts campaign.
