Nursing conference begins this week

The Cayman Islands Nursing Association is hosting its sixth annual National Nursing Conference this week.

An opening reception will be held Tuesday, 10 May, at 6pm at Grand Old House where the Eloise Reid Excellence in Nursing Award will be presented.

The conference, which will run from Wednesday, 11 May to Friday, 13 May at Hollywood Theatres, Camana Bay, will cover a range of medical topics and provides nurses and allied health professionals with an opportunity to earn continuing education credits.

Among the topics that will be discussed are the challenges of HIV for an aging population, presented by Dr. H. Barry Baker; TB and asthma, presented by Michele Grassi; malignant hyperthermia by Debbie Smith; and whether to suture or staple in bariatric surgery, by Mara Berman.
