Nominations sought
for Queen’s Honours

Deadline is Friday, 20 May

Members of the public are invited to submit nominations for New Year Honours 2012 to be bestowed by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. Deadline for receiving nominations is Friday, 20 May.

Governor Duncan Taylor said final recommendations for Officers and Members of the Order of the British Empire – OBE and MBE – are considered in the United Kingdom.

Nominations for the Cayman Islands Certificate and Badge of Honour are considered locally.

Long service is not enough, a press release from the Governor’s Office emphasises.

“Nominations must be supported by a persuasive account of the outstanding or innovative or self-sacrificing services and achievements of the nominee, whether paid or unpaid, in one field or several, and what has raised them above those of others performing similar services,” it states.

Honours nomination forms can be requested by email from [email protected] or found on the Governor’s Office website www.ukincayman.fco.gov.uk
