The Caledonian Wildcats and CNB/APS team Xtreme are facing off in the women’s softball finals.
After struggling through the regular season’s games with only four wins, CNB/APS Team Xtreme stood up to the challenge and defeated the CADC Stingers by one run in the semi-final game. The Stingers were second in the standings with nine wins.
Meanwhile the Western Union/National Concrete Challengers lost against Caledonian Wildcats by seven runs.
As the Challengers and Stingers say good-bye to the 2011 season, the Wildcats and Team Xtreme say hello to a shot at national softball glory. Game one of their best-of-three series starts this Saturday 18 June. All matches in the series take place at 8:30pm at the Little League Field of Dreams with game two next Saturday 25 June and game three, if necessary, on 2 July.
Both teams have lost a number of players to injuries, but they are each confident that they will do their best in the finals.
