Cayman placed fifth in one of the world’s biggest ball hockey tournaments.
The Cayman Islands Ball Hockey Association’s select team were at the ninth World Senior Ball Hockey Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia over the weekend. The competition, which ended on Tuesday, saw Cayman beat Hong Kong 2-1 in their final match with Rob Rintoul nabbing the game-winning goal.
Rintoul would be Cayman’s top scorer, placing 23rd in the competition with four goals. His efforts were a big reason why Cayman got victories over Hungary (7-0) and Spain (3-2) and a 0-0 draw with Bermuda. Cayman suffered only one loss to Great Britain (3-2) in their group (pool B).
