McLean on target

The Cayman Islands rounded off another successful Island Games showing with more golds on the final day in the Isle of Wight. 

Golds came in shooting through Edison McLean and on the track for Robert Ibeh in the 100 metres to go with his 200m title won earlier, the 4x100m men’s relay team and Carl Morgan in the triple jump after winning the long jump.  

Overall, Cayman won eight golds, seven silvers and eight bronzes, finishing ninth in the medals table. Guernsey got the most with a total of 107, followed by the hosts with 68 and third were Jersey with 81 but they only got 22 golds compared to the Isle of Man’s 26. 

The other Cayman golds came in squash from Caroline Heal and from tennis with Panav Jha getting the singles title and in the 
team event.
