Every year, the Caribbean Tourism Organisation hosts a Carnivale in San Francisco, which raises funds for the Caribbean.
It takes the form of donations of packages, excursions, gift baskets and accommodations, which are then placed both in a silent and live auction.
It is the fifth Caribbean Carnivale and includes a dinner, Caribbean entertainment, door prizes and raffle. Those who attend are drawn from travel agents, clients, friends and family, said Evie Carlock of the organisation’s Northern California chapter.
“Our travel partners have previously been generous in providing us with hotel packages, cruises, car rentals and merchandise to be used as auction items,” Ms Carlock said. “To guarantee our continued success of this event we need your support.
“We respectfully request your assistance by making a donation in our effort to raise funds for much needed charities. As a donor, your contribution will be on display at the Carnivale and your company will receive acknowledgement in our Carnivale program along with any extra advertising you may want to include,” she said, noting that she could be contacted on [email protected] All items are needed by 30 August.
