Blackbeard’s finds its friendly spirit at the Strand

Blackbeard’s Fine Wines, Beers & Spirits customer Jerry Swanson won CI$100 in gift certificates last week when his customer service story was selected the winner in the liquor store’s Friendly Spirit Story programme.

Mr. Swanson wrote about Tania Sanchez, a dedicated sales associate who was also awarded a CI$100 gift reward and an accomplishment certificate.

The programme aims to keep customer service levels at the best possible by rewarding staff for great service and customers for sharing feedback.

Mr. Swanson wrote about how Ms Sanchez, a sales associate at the Strand location, helped his mother, who was shopping at the store. Upon learning the customer needed to pick up some items from the supermarket opposite the liquor store, but was struggling to walk after having surgery on her foot, Ms Sanchez offered to do the shopping.

Mr. Swanson, a regular customer at Blackbeard’s, said, “Tania went beyond the call of duty. She really put the word ‘service’ in customer service.” He said, “We will be Blackbeard’s customers for life.”

Ms. Sanchez said, “I view helping customers as being the most important part of my job, and it is always a pleasure to make someone’s shopping experience the best it can be.”

Nancy van der Bol, director of retail operations at Blackbeard’s, said, “We received a lot of encouraging stories from our customers and were very pleased with the responses. We are grateful to Mr. Swanson for sharing his story with us and we are very proud of Tania for doing a great job.

The Friendly Spirit programme is certainly helping us maintain the highest possible service levels in our stores so we look forward to hearing your story too.”
