Praise to metal!

Welcome to NATIONAL METAL DAY! Yes just in case 11-11-11 isn’t the end of the world, it is the day of celebration for all metal music fans! VH1 started it and we are pleased to jump on board.

The most exciting event today will be the press conference at Whiskey a Go-Go in Los Angeles, where the original members of Black Sabbath will announce their reunion! Of course this includes the iconic Ozzy Osbourne, as well as Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. They are expected to announce a reunion tour and maybe even a NEW album!

Other sort of reunion news is that Velvet Revolver who went silent when their lead singer Scott Weiland left to rejoin the Stone Temple Pilots is getting together to look as some new lead singers in December according to Slash the founder. We can only hope for some new music from this great band.

Speaking of Scott Weiland he has just released an album of Christmas standards, “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year”, from big band to reggae…I have no words. He does promise another STP album next year so maybe all is not lost.

Go ahead and jump

Must be the season for forgiveness, as another reunion rumour has Van Halen making an announcement that their original lineup with David Lee Roth will return to the stage on the Grammy’s next February, look for this to happen on November 30th at the Grammy Nomination concert.

We might as well close with our Metal Day special with the most intriguing of all possible reunions, Guns N’ Roses IF they are selected to be inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of fame,(expect the announcement of the final inductee in the next few weeks) will they perform together? Slash has said that the first step is to be inducted and he hasn’t spoken to any of his old band mates (who last performed together back in 1991) about any plans but he says “of course you have to have those thoughts of how it might work in case it does happen, but with Guns ‘N Roses, there’s really no guessing exactly how it will go.” Oh we can only dream!

Enjoy National Metal Day….grab some vinyl and give some classics a spin for old time’s sake!
