Throughout the summer months of July and August, Kirk Office Equipment partnered with the Cayman Islands Red Cross in support of the relief organisation’s year-long 50th anniversary celebrations.
During those months, Kirk Office Equipment displayed back to school supplies and donated 10 per cent of these sales.
“I was very impressed with the employees who got involved with this day,” said Beth Taylor, store manager. “It shows me the commitment that Kirk Office Equipment has to being involved with, and giving back to, our local community”.
Recently, Kirk Office Equipment invited Jondo Obi, director of the Cayman Islands Red Cross, to make a short presentation on the background of the Red Cross. She highlighted the beginnings of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent movement and provided information on the Cayman Islands Red Cross’ programmes and services. Ms Obi also spoke about the importance of preparedness for any natural disaster or emergency.
Following the presentation on preparedness, Kirk Office Equipment committed to train its key employees in first aid, CPR and automated external defibrillator training programmes.
A cheque for funding collected during the summer was presented to Ms Obi.
“Our 50th anniversary celebration has been an exciting year, and Red Cross was pleased to receive the donation,” Ms Obi said. “We are also always happy to provide relevant information and training about disaster preparedness to local companies and schools.”
