On Saturday while diving with my son at Eden Rock I lost my car key in the sea.
I called the rental company and they graciously said they would come over with a new key.
In the meantime, a young man (Patrick) working at Eden Rock went off to search for my key! Into the sea he went with nothing more then a mask snorkel and fins.
As fate would have it, just as the driver from McCurley’s arrived with the new key driving into the parking lot and got out of the car we heard a shout from the water “I found it!” A slightly winded Patrick swam in triumphantly holding the key. I had watched him as he looked for the key, he worked very hard and made a very noble effort.
He spotted it in 40 feet of water and dove to retrieve it after searching for more than 30 minutes.
I am sure that Patrick’s search was motivated by a number of things but I must say I think that the challenge of finding the key was a very big part of it.
I want to thank him for his extraordinary effort, his good humour and his very pleasant manner. He is a good man and a very able diver.
Thank you for this opportunity.
