It’s Cayman Culinary Month, which means now is the time to discover all Cayman’s epicurean offerings.
On Wednesday, 18 January, Agua Restaurant & Lounge is hosting its own culinary month dinner, deliciously titled, Fresh Cayman Lobster and Conch. And, as its lobster and conch season, you can pretty much guarantee it will be the freshest lobster and conch available; plucked straight from the Caribbean Sea just hours before.
The gourmet evening will feature a five course tasting menu, created by Agua’s in house culinary team. The team hails from all corners of the globe and the menu will reflect this, with dishes combining a heady mixture of Italian, Asian, South American and Caribbean flavours.
Taste buds will be tickled by such delights as Caribbean style cracked conch, conch ceviche, shitake mushroom lobster ravioli and grilled whole lobster to name just a few. Each course will be enhanced by wine pairings, deftly picked by Agua’s sommeliers, Luciano De Riso and Fabio Sordinelli.
Sophisticated, laid back
Since its opening in 2010, Agua restaurant has continually wowed diners with its sophisticated, yet laid back, ambiance and culinary delights that reflect the melting pot of nationalities working tirelessly behind the scenes. The upcoming lobster and conch dinner event promises to be no different.
“Spiny Caribbean lobster is a top quality ingredient and only available three months of the year, so we wanted to make sure we took advantage of the current season,” Cristiano Vincentini, Agua restaurant manager and owner, said. “Conch is also a really delicious shellfish, but not the easiest to work with. We really wanted to stretch our chef’s culinary skills and experience to create creative and unique dishes with these two ingredients for an outstanding and truly memorable dinner.”
Cayman Culinary Month is the foodie highlight of the year and includes a roster of culinary events, including Cayman Cookout, Taste of Cayman Food & Wine Festival and this year’s inaugural Slow Food Day. The event features a host of food and wine tasting events, demonstrations, dinner parties and celebrity chefs.
