Discussing Cyber libel with expert

Join the Business & Professional Women’s Club of Grand Cayman for a Lunch and Lecture programme at Camana Bay’s Hollywood Theaters on Friday, 20 April at noon, titled “Cyber Bullying, Harassment and Cyber Libel”.

Author David Potts – interviewed in Weekender last week – will be giving the lecture at the theatre. Author of CyberLibel: Information Warfare in the 21st Century, David is a barrister, solicitor and defamation expert from Toronto.

Libel affects everyone

Most people are unaware that libel affects everyone – not just lawyers but business executives, politicians, sales personnel, government officials, entrepreneurs, personnel officers, department managers, journalists, and clerical staff who send letters on company letterhead. Even organisations that allow other people to post messages on its website have a real potential exposure to libel actions. Scary stuff.

Tickets are $25 per person ($15 per student) and the event is catered by Black Trumpet.
