Get ready, Caymaneers, because reggae legend Barrington Levy is coming to Cayman.
Yes, the man himself will be playing at Royal Watler on Friday, 4 May, supported by a host of local bands and DJ sets from Brooklyn Earick and our own Super C.
We’re told that gates open at 6pm in this Epic Day Entertainment-presented event. Tickets are $25 advance or $30 on the door. Alternatively, you could go for the VIP option, which includes free canapes from 6pm to 8pm and access to the VIP lounge plus a private bar and a bird’s eye view of the concert. That’s going to set you back $50 advance or $60 on the door.
Tickets are available at Hard Rock Cafe, Green Parrot, Funky Tangs, Mr G’s Barbershop and Champion Accessories.
Sian Weinzweig, of the promoters, expresses her delight at being able to make this concert happen.
“We are confident that the people of the Cayman Islands will come out to support the man who appeals to the masses. His songs pass the test of time and can still be heard regularly on many radio stations here in Grand Cayman.
“For a man who started his impressive career over 30 years ago it’s amazing to see him doing collaborations with massive current artists such as Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg and L’il Wayne,” she tells Weekender.
No arguments here, Sian; it’s gonna be brill.
Sponsors are Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, Radio Cayman, Sunshine Suites, Hard Rock Cafe and Green Parrot.
