Garden Club honours Bennett

The back courtyard at Pines Retirement Home is now a showpiece thanks to the efforts of the Garden Club of Grand Cayman.

Tuesday afternoon, Garden Club members gathered in the Pines courtyard to erect a plaque and honour out-going president Robert Bennett for his vision of the project.

Ecstatic at being involved in the project, Mr. Bennett praised the outcome of plants used in the landscaping, which were long term plants and should maintain a pleasant appearance with minimal care.

“It is one thing to develop and landscape the area, but the maintenance and upkeep of the premises is long term,” Mr. Bennett said. He said he would assist with the upkeep of the grounds.

The Olive Miller courtyard’s white patio with white railing reserved for Pines residents and visitors to enjoy also includes a bed of colourful plants and flowers.
