The National Gallery of the Cayman Islands and law firm Ogier are hosting the Ogier Art Awards at Camana Bay from 11-27 June.
Local artists are exhibiting works in various media, including acrylic, oil, pencil and ink, multimedia and video.
Some of the artists featured in the exhibition are David Bridgeman, Gordon Solomon, Avril Ward and Teresa Grimmes.
Now in its third year, the competition was created as part of Ogier’s corporate giving philosophy, which supports the promotion and development of art and culture within the community. The competition, as such, provides a platform for both established and emerging talent and has proven to be a starting point for artists looking to develop a reputation.
Works on display is available for sale throughout the two week period, although no works will be released until the prize has been announced.
Prizes will be awarded to the two artists with the strongest works, along with a third prize earmarked for an emerging artist and a photography prize. The winning works will form the basis of the Ogier Corporate Art Collection, which will be displayed at Ogier’s offices at Camana Bay.
