Camp for crafty kids slated

Crafty children will be well taken care of this July.

An arts and crafts summer camp, designed and run by Visual Arts Society artists Avril Ward and Mary McCallum, will nurture the artistic talent and creative flair of youngsters. Children ages 7 to 13 are invited to join the summer camp, which runs every Tuesday and Thursday, between 9.30am and 12.30pm from 10 July 10 to 31 July.

Resident artists Avril and Mary will be leading the workshop at Watler House at Pedro Castle, instructing children in a variety of techniques and showing them different crafts. Children will be able to try their hand in artistic pursuits including sculpture, bead making and clay work. All children will also be taken on the Nautilus semi-submerisble for a tour of the reefs.

All materials and snacks will be covered by the class fee of $45 per day.
