Friday, 24 August is a date you’ll want to keep free. Margaritaville is hosting a Bubble Up party to celebrate both Jamaican and Trinidadian Independence.
Jamaican Independence Day was on 6 August and Trinidadian Independence day takes place on 31 August.
“Both Caribbean islands are celebrating 50 years of independence, so we decided to do a back to the 80s/90s Dancehall and Soca event,” says Cedric Gidarisingh at Margaritaville.
The party kicks off at 9pm; get there early to ensure your entry as a huge turnout is expected. The party will go on for a full 5 hours, coming to an end at 2am.
“We are expecting the night to be very busy with a mixture of Caribbean patrons dancing to Dancehall and Soca music,” says Cedric.
Enjoy cool beats from Coalition Sound, and don’t miss out on Cayman’s top disc jockeys, DJ Slaughter Rich, DJ Royal and a special guest DJ.
Although the theme is 80s and 90s, you don’t have to worry about hunting around for an outfit,
“Patrons do not have to dress in an 80s or 90s outfit. They can wear whatever they want to have a good time! The event theme doesn’t reflect the outfits but the music,” Cedric says.
Getting there on time means paying just $10 admission and will ensure you won’t miss out on the supreme drinks deals, “Two for one Rum and Coke until 10pm and we will also be giving away Hennessy Bottle Service to two lucky patrons at the event. As well as 3-4-5 drink specials, $3 beer, $4 wells and $5 Margarita and Wine,” Cedric says.
Admission goes up to $15 after midnight.
So if you’re eager to get back to the 80s and 90s, make sure to be at Margaritaville’s Bubble Up party this Friday.
