Race Caribbean is back again with the Halloween 10-10-10 Road Relay, the 30km Solo Run and the East End 5km which all start at the Reef in East End.
Tracey Walker outsped her male counterparts in the East End 5km last year to win in 22 minutes 59 seconds, with Governor Duncan Taylor second in 24:25 ahead of third placed Timothy Larner (26:20).
The Halloween 10-10-10 champs last time were Phoenix Athletic Club who won in 2 hours 08 minutes 07 seconds ahead of Henry/Gill/Ray (2:19:31) and MDR Boys (2:28:50).
Anyone preparing for the Cayman Islands Marathon in December could use this event to tune up five weeks before with the challenging 30km Solo run (about 18.6 miles).
It is on Sunday 28 October and the ideal distance to try at marathon pace, just before runners start to taper for their marathon challenge.
A team of three runners who want to complete 10km each, the Halloween 10-10-10 is the ideal run for them. Again, it is ideal practice for those entered a team in the marathon relay.
For those who do not wish to go so far, there is always the East End 5km fun run/walk. Bib numbers and T-shirts to be collected on Saturday 27 October from Camana Bay next to tower when entry fee can be paid.
On the day entries will be accepted for the East End 5km, however, because of the pre-race administration, the relay teams and 30km solo runners must be pre-entered.
Organiser Derek Larner of Race Caribbean said: “Hopefully we will have about 100 involved.
The entrants last year were very happy and I’m sure we will have at least as many as last year.”
