Dive for charity

There are endless fun and active ways to support Breast Cancer Awareness this month, and on Saturday, 13 October, you could help raise money for the Cayman Islands Cancer Society by going for a dive.

Divetech is offering shore dives from both their Cobalt Coast and Lighthouse Point locations for a minimum donation of $25. That will buy you a tank, weights and a T-shirt. One hundred per cent of these proceeds will go directly to the free mammogram programme, run by the Cancer Society.

“One of the crew at Divetech is a cancer survivor, she has been clear for two years now and we wanted to celebrate this by hosting this day for Breast Cancer Awareness and the CICS,” explains Emma Nicholsby, an instructor at Divetech.

It’s all light-hearted fun though and divers, both male and female, are encouraged to turn up in their (or someone’s) bra or wearing pink.

Refreshments will be served and prizes given to the best(?) dressed at 4pm at Cobalt Coast.
