Brenda Tibbetts run is on

The Lions Club of Tropical Gardens has its annual Brenda Tibbetts-Lund Memorial 5k Walk/Run on Saturday. The walk will begin at 6am and the run at 6.30am.

Pre-registration is available at the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens registration headquarters, which is located in room number 120 at the Elizabethan Square, which is directly across from the Office Lounge on Shedden Road from 10am to 4pm daily.

Registration fee is $20 per person and the first 700 participants to register will receive a T-shirt and a pink recyclable shopping bag.

Trophies will go to the first, second and third place finishers in the walk and the run. Plus there are random prizes to be won by all participants.

Funds raised from the walk/run go towards assisting the club to pay for mammogram screenings for women, which usually cost the club between $30,000 and $50,000 annually, depending on the number of vouchers that are redeemed.

The breast cancer awareness campaign continues to have a positive impact on lives in the Cayman Islands. Over the 15 year history of the programme 52,000 people have benefited from our educational programmes, nearly a million dollars has been spent for mammogram screenings, which are sponsored by the Club and have enabled women to assess their breast health and over 250 individuals have been assisted with health care and other related costs, both at home and overseas.

Registration fee is $20 per person and the first 700 participants to register will receive a T-shirt and a pink recyclable shopping bag.
