Miami, as we all know, is that city up there right on the tip of the bit of America that looks a bit like a, erm, nice place to visit.
Even more so this month as Miami Music Month kicks off. Should you be so inclined, here’s a few of the bigger shows we found out about.

Ribfest 2012
Zoo Miami

Enjoy lip smackin’ barbecue and foot stompin’ concerts at Ribfest 2012. Ribfest is a three-day barbecue festival and cook-off with national ribbers competing for “best of” in five categories including best ribs, beef brisket, pork, chicken and sauce. In addition to great food, don’t miss three full days of entertainment for the whole family, including continuous live concert performances by local and national bands, including this year’s headlining acts southern rock group Molly Hatchet and country music star James Otto.

Miami Live Music Month Kickoff Event

Burgerliscious

Coral Gables is renowned as a premier dining destination and home to more than 150 restaurants, many of which serve the finest burgers in South Florida. Burgerliscious celebrates the very best and finest in burgers and more – a cornerstone of our beloved American cuisine. Burgerliscious is the official launch of Miami Live Music Month.

NASCAR Concert at Lummus Park

The day may be ending, but the party is just beginning as NASCAR Championship Drive keeps the fun going long into the night with a free concert on the beach, featuring musical guests Daughtry and featured guest Frankie J.
Saturday, 17 and Sunday, 18 November
Miami Jazz Fest
Klipsch Amphitheater at Bayfront Park
The Miami Jazz Fest will be going back to the basics and will bring in some exceptional true jazz artists from around the world. The first night of this two day event, will feature the exotic sound of Brazil as they bring in a star studded line up of international musicians to introduce you to the unique and varied styles of Brazilian jazz. The second day and evening, will be rocking Miami as we bring in some swinging, no nonsense, straight ahead jazz performances by world renown musicians from across the globe.
Lots of the smaller venues are also putting on gigs so if you’re looking to get your live music fix, ya know what to do chaps.
