International volleyball gets another chance in the Cayman Islands this weekend following the NORCECA 2014 World Championship Qualifiers held last month here.

This time it is the CAL SpikeFest, at the University College of the Cayman Islands Gym, from Friday 9 November until Sunday. It will feature male and female club teams from Jamaica, Bahamas and the Cayman Islands. Visiting national team/club players from Trinidad and Tobago will join team Caribbean All Stars, who emerged as champions at the last tournament SpikeFest.

Cayman Airways is the flagship sponsor of SpikeFest, a free to the public event which is seeing the sixth year of competition. The regional indoor tournament is club based featuring a mix of international college, national team players, of both gender, along with emerging talents. Prizes and awards are sponsored exclusively by the national flag carrier, Cayman Airways.

The games are held under the auspices of the Cayman Island Volleyball Federation, in compliance with FIVB/NORCECA indoor games commissions. Over the past years Cayman Airways SpikeFest has featured talent from all over the Caribbean and United States with technical support from Volleyball Canada.

Games commence at 6pm on Friday and from 8.30am Saturday and will go on until 10pm except for Sunday evening when the closing ceremonies will be held earlier.
