The Rotaract Club of Grand Cayman has added three new people with an induction ceremony that took place at Black Trumpet Deli in Camana Bay.
The three new members are Steven Manning, Jhaneille Ennis and Rosie Dunsford. To gain membership, the trio went through three months of volunteering for community service events and attended several meetings and fellowship functions. They also had to give a speech about their roots and their desire to connect with the Cayman community titled “Who Ya Fa” during a meeting prior to induction.
President Derrick Vermont was on hand for the induction along with Vice President Lauren Langlois and sponsors Andrea Balderamos and Adrean Russell. Ms Balderamos, who sponsored Ms Ennis, said the inductees represent the aim of Rotaract.
“These three new additions have shown themselves to be dedicated and committed to the true nature of Rotaract,” Mr. Vermont said. “They did all that was required of them and are all great additions. We are now proud to call them official members.”
Rotaract is an international organisation that promotes professional development and community service through fellowship. Although it operates independently, the group looks for advice from its sponsor, the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise.
The club consists of a group of young people ages 18 through 30, whose aim is to come together and better their community.
Rotaract meets every Thursday at 7am at Black Trumpet Deli. For further information e-mail [email protected]
