Drums, visual arts, music set for Camana Bay

It’s music and rhythm all the way on Saturday, 8 December up at Camana Bay.

First off, the Drum Jam has its end of year bash from 4.30 to 6.30pm.

“The Drum Jam will feature many special guests from throughout the year and is hosted by I Am … Percussion Ensemble,” says Eden Hurlston.

“Always free and family friendly, you’ll hear a modern fusion of ancient rhythms to move your mind, body and soul.”
At 7.30pm the Musicians’ Showcase gets under way. This time around, the featured community organisation is the Cayman Islands Red Cross, which is promoting its 2012 World AIDS Day Campaign, as well as the Cayman Thanksgiving Commission, promoting cultural reconnection in the Cayman Islands.

Grasp Your Future will also be offering voter registration assistance – the deadline for voter registration is Wednesday, 2 January. Please call 928-VOTE or 328-VOTE (8683) to find out what documents you’ll need. A colour copier will be on site if you bring original documents.

The featured artist is the Cayman Islands Visual Arts Society. The evening includes a glass blowing demo by Island Glassblowing Studio and fantastic handmade crafts and art that will make perfect Christmas gifts, we’re told.
