Musician and artist Gordon Solomon and his wife, Alta, have once again teamed musically to offer an album that will be available this Christmas season.
“Winds on Waters” is the latest album by the husband and wife duo, who have released a few other albums. The Weekender caught up with Gordon Solomon and his wife, who told us a little more about the project.
“Most of the songs are about the wine and the water. It is a repeating theme on the album. In fact one of the lead singles of the album is a song called Christmas Breeze,” the artist says.
Known for his intelligently capturing lyrical content and interesting arsenal of curious melodies, Gordon has quietly gone about establishing himself as one of the premier songwriters in the Cayman Islands, as time will no doubt tell.
Recorded in the Cayman Islands, between Hopscotch Studios and the Garden Studios, Winds and Waters was mixed by Jason Gilbert and Adrian Rowe, which will no doubt ensure that the tracks are enjoyed at their optimum quality.
“It will be available on Christmas Eve at Books and Books, Funky Tangs and Pure ART,” says Alta. “I have two songs on this album, where I perform the lead vocal. One of them is a song called Lost at Sea. It is about my Great Grandmother and her loosing her husband at sea. The song is very personal and usually I write words but this song came to me with word and a melody, which was an indication to me that it was inspired directly be her.”
There are 12 songs on the upcoming album, which will be available on 24 December.
