Government gauges support for events

Government has launched a survey to determine if people like spending their public holidays at national events such as Heroes’ Day or if they wouldn’t be caught dead at them.

A posting on the Cayman Islands government Facebook page, states: “You pay for them. Tell us how to make them better.”

“Are big national events like Heroes’ Day the best way to spend a public holiday – or something you wouldn’t be caught dead at? Help us make sure these events are attractive and exciting for you and your family by filling out this quick survey,” the Facebook posting invites.

A 10-question survey, available on the surveymonkey.com site, includes questions on whether the respondent regularly attends government events, such as the Queen’s Birthday Parade, Remembrance Day and Heroes’ Day and if he or she enjoys those events. The survey also gives members of the public a chance to let the government know what they would change about government events.
