Pan classes continue

Classes in the quintessential sound of the Caribbean – the steel pan – restart on Monday, 14 January.

The semester lasts for 14 weeks and is again under the tutelage of Earl La Pierre. The current group has already been out and about performing under the title of the Pan People including a special appearance at Pirates Week.

Glen Inanga of UCCI, where the classes are held, is a keen player himself as well as his multitude of other activities.

“Benefits include becoming part of a steelpan community as well as increased mental agility from an enjoyable and accessible activity,” he rightly notes.

Registration is open and people can get involved by calling the UCCI Administration office on 6238224. The cost is $165 for the semester.
