The Cayman Islands Marketing Professionals Association will host two seminars on Wednesday, 30 January on the financial services industry.
The first seminar, titled “Financial Services Overview for Marketers”, will provide marketing professionals with an introductory overview of the key business segments within the financial industry in the Cayman Islands and outline their primary benefits to clients. Topics will include captive insurance, banking, hedge funds, special purpose vehicles and company management. The session will be held from 9.30am to 12.30pm at the Governor’s Square Ballroom.
A second session, titled “Local and International Trends in Financial Services”, will be held in the afternoon from 2 to 4pm and deal with the global changes to the offshore financial services market.
The seminar will address the role of emerging markets and highlight key domestic and international policy changes that may impact the future sustainability of the Cayman Islands’ sector that have implications for public relations strategies of individual firms. Topics will include emerging market trends and increased competition, domestic policy changes, the shift in the global tax debate and new products and services.
Both seminars will be presented by Paul Byles, chief executive officer and partner of First Regents Bank & Trust, which provides private banking, investment advisory and consulting services.
Mr. Byles is an experienced economist and finance professional having worked in the financial services industry for 20 years. He formerly served as an external consultant to the Cayman Islands Ministry of Finance from 2009 to 2010. He is the former director of a big four consulting firm and a former financial services regulator.
The cost for each seminar is $150 and $100, respectively, per person.
