Three others on police bail
Aaron Bernardo, 28, was remanded to custody Tuesday morning after appearing in Summary Court in Grand Cayman charged in connection with the 7 January robbery of Kirk Freeport at The Strand on West Bay Road.
Defence attorney Lucy Organ said the case against her client was weak and that he denied any involvement in the incident. Ms Organ noted that three other individuals were on police bail in connection with the matter and she suggested that Bernardo be placed on curfew or with an electronic tag.
Crown Counsel Marilyn Brandt objected to bail.
Chief Magistrate Nova Hall denied bail and transmitted the matter to Grand Court. Magistrate Hall directed that Bernardo appear there on Friday, 25 January. Ms Organ put the Crown on notice that she would be applying for bail in Grand Court as soon as possible.
