Land and development professionals will be talking shop all day at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort on 28 February, during the Cayman Islands Property and Construction Conference.
The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors event, aimed at professionals across the Caribbean, will also serve as the launch of the institute’s new Cayman chapter. Tentative topics of discussion include public private partnerships, market outlooks in different areas of Grand Cayman, valuation, construction and management.
Registration, including lunch, is $50. For more information, call 949-8644 or e-mail email@example.com.
The institute recently signed a memorandum of understanding with FirstCaribbean International Bank and Scotiabank Cayman Islands, wherein the banks agree to prefer institute-registered valuers to perform valuation services such as property appraisals for the bank, according to a news release issued by the institute.
At least two other bank agreements are pending, according to the news release. The bank agreements are part of the association’s “Valuer Registration Programme”, which started in the United Kingdom and Europe between October 2010 and January 2011.
