PERC’s CETP Training

To excel in the propane industry, all of our employees undergo the rigorous Certified Employee Training Program (CETP) that was launched by the National Propane Gas Association in partnership with the Propane Education & Resource Council (PERC) in the United States in 1988.

This program provides a formal structure for training, testing and documenting that our employees have the necessary knowledge and skills required for the safe delivery of gas, and the operation, installation and maintenance of propane appliances.

Their training modules cover basic Principles and Practices, Bobtail Delivery Operations, Plant Operations, Vapor Distribution Systems, Large Commercial Gas-Fired Equipment installations and more. Several of these same courses are offered by PERC online to our employees.

Basic CETP training is mandatory for all of Home Gas’ employees. As each employee’s scope of responsibility grows, CETP training for more advanced levels are required and taken.

Service Commitment

Home Gas also relies on the expertise drawn from the third-party training delivered through our venders such as Rinnai, Noritz, Generac, Mosquito Magnet and more.

Through one-on-one specialized training with the authorized dealers for their products, our employees learn how to conduct complete warranty repair on the appliances we sell. This expertise also enables our technicians to affordably diagnose and repair appliances out of warranty.

Plus, this kind of in-depth product training enables Home Gas to better understand our products and ensure we offer the right solutions to meet the needs of our customers.

Other Sources of Development

Home Gas, through its attendance at various National Propane Gas Association conventions, seminars and Benchmarking Council meetings, is able to learn the best industry practices from other propane marketers to share with our staff.

Home Gas strongly supports the Chamber sponsored Leadership Cayman programme. Several Home Gas managers have successfully completed the six-month course and benefited from the intensive education and training that enables participants to connect with high-level community leaders and decision makers in Cayman.
