Hyacinth Jervis, a member and supporter of the Pink Ladies Volunteer Corps who lost her battle with cancer last summer, is being remembered with a significant donation and facilities upgrade to the Pines Retirement Home.
Ms Jervis’ family chose to hand over the donations received at her memorial service to the Pink Ladies, an organisation for which the late Ms Jervis served as director from 1998 to 2000. The Pink Ladies in turn decided to match the donation and contribute $5,000 to purchase a sterilising unit for the Pines Retirement Home in Grand Cayman.
As a token of its appreciation, the Pines has named the treatment room in honour of Ms Jervis.
The Pink Ladies, along with Ray Jervis and family, attended the Pines Retirement Home recently and handed over a cheque to Sue Nicholson, manager of the Pines. The group also viewed the equipment and room now named in her memory.
