Pink Ladies Volunteer Corps recently made a donation of much needed supplies to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Cayman Islands Hospital.
This was a special donation suggested by long-time Pink Lady volunteer Sandra Joseph, whose granddaughter, Abbie Jane, was born at Cayman Islands Hospital last October.
Abbie immediately developed respiratory distress syndrome and was confined to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for a week, where she received the dedicated care of the doctors and nurses and made a full recovery.
In recognition of the work of the unit’s staff, Pink Ladies purchased blankets, sheets, hats and socks which were delivered to the unit by volunteers Nancy Whitefield, Jane Moon and Sandra Joseph, along with baby Abbie and her mother Victoria McClenaghan.
Thanks were expressed to the Baby Shoppe and Little Darlings for supplying the items at a discount.
