Six lucky people headed off to the NORCECA beach volleyball tournament last weekend armed with free VIP passes.
Chantelle Grant, Jon Coleman and Paul Chivers each won two VIP passes apiece for the three day event, when they entered the competition sponsored by NORCECA and Cayman Free Press.
“I was stoked to win because my good friend Jessica will be playing for Cayman in the tournament this weekend so I’m really excited to watch her,” said Ms Grant, when she heard on last Wednesday that she was one of the winners. “I’m new to the island and I heard all about it last year so I couldn’t wait for it to come along this year. I’m also happy to see so many teams participating. It’s going to be a great weekend.”
Mr. Chivers was equally excited to have won, saying, “It is the perfect present for my wife, who is a huge volleyball fan, so I am looking forward to surprising her with the tickets when I pick them up.”
Tournament director Fareed Hosein was anticipating an exciting tournament. “This year’s tournament has the strongest field of players I believe for any NORCECA beach volleyball tournament,” he said. “We expect three days of intense competition and also expect our Cayman teams to be right in the mix. We thank the Caymanian Compass for sponsoring the tournament and congratulate the winners, they will have a great spot for watching the event and will be given the VIP treatment from the Cayman Islands Volleyball Federation.”
