WestStar TV will be airing one of the Caribbean’s biggest track and field meets.
Cayman 27 is going to be offering complete coverage of the 42nd CARIFTA Track and Field Championships over Easter Weekend. The schedule starts on Friday, 29 March, with the opening ceremony from 4.30 to 8.30pm.
Live events will be shown on Saturday, 30 March, 3.30 to 8pm; on Sunday, 31 March, 2 to 8.30pm; and Monday, 1 April, 2.30 to 8.30pm.
This weekend’s competition takes place in Nassau, Bahamas with 17 youngsters representing the Cayman Islands. The medal favourites are Jorel Bellafonte in the Under-20 Boys 800 metres and 1500m, Ashleigh Nalty in the U-20 Girls high jump and Alex Pascal in the U-20 javelin.
